We are extremely excited to be involved with a great organization right here in Boston, the Boston CIO Leadership Association, which is doing the necessary work of honoring our local CIO’s that are making huge impacts to their business, to Boston’s technology community, and to the economy in general.
On June 17th, the Boston CIO of the Year® Awards, in partnership with the Boston Business Journal, will take place at the Boston Park Plaza hotel. Markley Group is proud to be an underwriter of this great organization and event.
The Boston CIO Leadership Association (BostonCIO) is New England’s preeminent professional association for senior technology leaders. Their mission is to build a strong professional community among New England’s information technology leaders, while inspiring CIOs to achieve their leadership potential and creating opportunities to engage in substantive, issues-based discussion related to their industries and profession. Membership is comprised exclusively of chief information officers or individuals in equivalent positions from public and private companies, government, education and non-profit organizations throughout New England.
This annual event, one of the only technology executive recognition programs in New England, honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. CIOs and those in equivalent positions are recognized in five categories: Global, Enterprise, Corporate, Emerging and Non-profit / Public Sector, and evaluated on innovation, leadership, business value creation, and community involvement.
So, let’s get to this year’s finalists, shall we?
- Global Finalists (Over $500M in revenue and multinational): Mike McCarron, CIO & Operations Lead, Bain Capital; Rich Adduci, SVP & CIO, Boston Scientific; Vic Bhagat, EVP & CIO, EMC Corp.; and Brook Colangelo, EVP & CTO, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

We wish them all the best of luck! The event should be a great time – with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Weather Company, David Kenny, as the keynote – and we look forward to celebrating alongside these industry luminaries.
