Perspective for Render

The Lowell Sun recently covered the official completion of phase one of our new facility in Lowell, MA. Reporter Grant Welker chats with our CEO and founder Jeff Markley and our Executive Vice President Jeff Flanagan about what's now open for business and what's planned for the future:

"In fact, Markley will be making among the largest investments Lowell has ever seen from a business. The company has said it will invest $200 million and hire 100 workers in the next 20 years at the site.

The first phase is only a small piece of that. A newly constructed building has been completed and houses the first of three tenants. A half-dozen or more tenants are pending agreement, said Jeffrey Flanagan, Markley Group's executive vice president. 'We're excited about it,' Flanagan said of the site's progress. 'Things have been moving along well.'

In addition to storing important information for businesses and colleges, the facility will also have 1,000 so-called 'hot seats,' or spaces where companies can set up operations with guaranteed power in the event of an emergency.

Next up is the much larger task of renovating the bunker-like factory at the center of the property. Master planning is still ongoing, Flanagan said, with work expected to begin in the second half of the year."
