We’ve got a lot of great content for you today at our Markley Data Center Summit 2013, but the one presentation I’m most excited about is our “Cloud Strategies to Manage Your Business Efficiently” panel, scheduled for 1:45pm.
Cloud computing has evolved from a future technology that businesses needed to address soon, to a part of everyday business in the past three-four years. There are very few businesses (or consumers) that don’t use the cloud in some way, shape or form every day.
While that’s been exciting to watch, it’s also led to situations where companies aren’t using the cloud correctly, rushed in to the cloud, or have used the wrong cloud tools to store the wrong data and conduct the wrong processes – all in the name of “moving to the cloud.”
This panel will focus on how the market has changed to match business needs, what the correct strategies are for cloud computing and what you should do at your organization to make sure the cloud is making your company lean and efficient – not just allowing your board to check off a box that they are now “in the cloud.”
I’m honored to be one of the panelists for this presentation and hope I can share some good insights and lessons learned as a part of the discussion. The other panelists include:
- Moderator: Carl Brooks, Research Analyst, Internet Infrastructure Services, 451 Research
- Ken Michaels, President and Chief Operating Officer, Hachette Book Group
- Joseph Flynn, Account Executive, Dell, Inc.
- John Patrick, President, Attitude LLC
- Wayne Pauley, Senior Analyst, ESG Global
I hope to see you there and look forward to answering your questions about the cloud and how to use it to make your operations run more efficiently than ever before.
