Posted on October 27, 2015 by Adam Burnham

Markley Group is excited to announce that our CTO, Patrick Gilmore, will be participating as the keynote speaker at this week’s Next Generation Networks (NGN) Boston event, hosted by Solarflare. The event, taking place Thursday October 29 from 4:30pm to 8pm EDT at the Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, MA, will focus on the hot trends in accelerating, monitoring and securing network data. Patrick will be joined at the event by speakers from Fidelity, Lenovo, Red Hat and Solarflare.

Interested in attending? Here’s the full overview:

What:                   Solarflare’s Next Generation Networks event will explore and help attendees address emerging cloud workloads with OpenStack; achieve bare metal network performance while virtualized or in containers; understand how security paradigms are evolving to add new distributed levels of security; implement strategies to protect against DDoS attacks; find new tools for broader network monitoring and fully instrumenting servers; and take advantage of advances in accelerating high performance networks and applications.

In his presentation, “Defense in Depth - The Key To Surviving On Today’s Internet,” Patrick will discuss why today’s IT infrastructure, or more precisely the information contained therein, is the most important target of all. He’ll share why the variety and breadth of possible attacks means no single defensive mechanism or posture is sufficient and argue why layers of protection are the only possible way to protect your most precious resource: information.

When:                Thursday, October 29 from 4:30pm – 8pm EDT

Where:               Brae Burn Country Club, West Newton, MA

To Attend:         The event is free to attend. RSVP and secure your ticket here.

To cap off the event, Patrick will sit on a panel along with Ron Miller, Director of Technical Marketing Security at Solarflare, Matt Smith, Senior Solution Architect at Red Hat and Bob Thurston, Director of Operating Systems at Fidelity to discuss the implications of regulatory compliance on networking and security.

Markley Group will also have a table at the event, so if you plan on attending, swing by for a one-on-one discussion with our team of experts on how our services and solutions are helping to protect our clients’ critical data and information.

We look forward to seeing you there!
