ClearSky Data: Making Cloud Storage Work in a Hybrid World

Thursday, June 19, 2014
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

As cloud storage pricing from Amazon, Microsoft and Google continues to plummet, enterprises ponder the use of this utility for their primary storage needs. Traditional primary storage arrays from EMC, Dell, NetApp and others provide reliable solutions, but they are increasingly unattractive due to ever-growing capital costs and infrastructure management requirements. Enterprise IT would like to benefit from on-demand, opex-based and highly scalable cloud services, but remain concerned about performance, latency, security and availability.

To integrate cloud storage into the enterprise model, IT and business managers need to understand the underlying technologies of object-based clouds, and to identify the right use cases for them. Used appropriately, cloud storage can be a powerful addition to storage management; incorrect usage can lead to surprises in costs and end user experience.

To learn more about the best ways to use cloud storage along with traditional models, join us for a presentation/Q&A with Laz Vekiarides, CTO & Co-Founder at ClearSky Data, a local startup building an innovative service offering in the enterprise storage space.

About the Presenter

Laz Vekiarides, CTO & Co-Founder at ClearSky Data, is a well-known speaker on enterprise storage.
