Meet the Markley Team: Paul Diamond

By Morgan Woodruff | October 21, 2013

In order to further familiarize our readers with the innovative and thoughtful minds at Markley we are starting a new series today, where we’ll be introducing you to some of the key members of the Markley Group team. In the coming weeks you will get to know folks from across the entire organization; from the infrastructure and engineering group to the Markley Cloud Services (MCS) team and everyone in between.

Today we are excited to profile of a key member of our MCS team, Paul Diamond. He has been instrumental in growing our full and self-service cloud platform.

Paul comes to Markley Group with over 30 years experience in various technology roles, most of them in the Banking and Financial Services sectors. Prior to joining our team, he spent several years at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) where he served as infrastructure manager, chief technologist and project manager. While there, he lead a Strategic Planning and Innovation team charged with creating both short and long term strategic technology plans to consolidate data centers, create regional operations centers and build data storage and archival operations plans. Paul is an innovative thinker, known for being an early adopter of trends like VOIP, which he brought to BBH in 2005 to lessen costs while improving overall service and coverage capabilities.

Paul currently works as a technology sales engineer on our cloud team where he leverages his past experience to help grow and differentiate our MCS offering. He has been instrumental in ensuring that MCS has a unique set of carrier access capabilities, direct connect cloud solutions, and a full suite of support and backup/archive solutions to go along with the standard compute, network and storage capabilities of OpenStack and VMware. His work to consistently improve and enhance MCS and the customer experience associated with it is a true value-add for both Markley and our cloud customers.

In his spare time Paul enjoys golf, he's a member of the Lakeville country club hole in one club, an honor he earned last July. A Bostonian his entire life, he is naturally an avid Boston sports fan, with a solid rivalry dislike for the NY-based teams. With a few family members battling cancer, he both supports and walks for the cause for a cure. Paul has a preference for lakes over oceans, therefore, his favorite vacation spots are anywhere in the mountain regions.
